For many serious competition shooters and hunters – real aficionados- reloading is a holy art. It’s an extremely fine-tuned procedure that requires skill, experience and optimum components.
To manufacture the ideal cartridge, the bullets and cases must fulfill the highest quality specifications – naturally enough not forgetting the importance of the powder. The combination of Lapua bullets and cases is the perfect assurance of accuracy.
Lapua bullets
Lapua manufactures undeniably the world’s best precision bullets with outstanding ballistic qualities. The precision of our bullet is based on their uncompromising and even quality. Only the best raw materials are accepted for production and all bullets must fulfill the toughest of precision demands. This means that each bullet is subject to visual inspection and tested with advanced measurement devices. Accuracy and trajectory are tested by firing.
Lapua cases
The manufacture of world-class cases begins with high-quality raw materials, as well as superior smelting and metallurgical competence. And throughout multiphase production process the focus on full-scope quality control is consistent with Lapua’s exacting standards.
Particular attention is also paid to calibration and the metallurgical properties of the case, such as hardness, solidity and grain structure. All Lapua cases are tested with 30% over pressure according to C.I.P. regulations.
Lapua cases can be reloaded a minimum of 10 times.
Handgun case test
We tested four different .358/.38 Magnum cases for stretching over a ten-reload period. The tests were conducted with .357 Magnum and .38 Super cases. The cases were measured for length, size of the primer pocket and case bottom. They were also measured before the test and after each reloading. The test proved that new Lapua cases are more accurate and durable than competitors’ cases.
